Penn State football’s annual Lift for Life event is returning, the team announced on Tuesday afternoon.
The event will be held at 9 a.m. on July 1 on the practice field outside the Lasch Building. It will be open to the public, with a suggested donation of $10 for adults and $5 for kids upon entry to support the fight against rare diseases.
Parking will be available in the Bryce Jordan Center East lot and can be purchased through the HonkMobile app.
Per usual, the offense and defense will compete in a series of physical challenges, followed by a 15-minute autograph session for fans in attendance. All proceeds from the event will go toward the Penn State Chapter of Uplifting Athletes, a nonprofit organization that has raised over $8 million since 2007.
The Penn State Lift for Life program has raised over $1.4 million across 23 years, according to its website, and has set a goal of $25,000 for next Wednesday’s competition. So far, the tevent has raised just over $5,000 of that goal, with quarterback Rocco Becht credited with the highest contribution at $655 raised, followed by defensive tackle Siale Taupaki ($600) and running back James Peoples ($500).
